CDMA - Code Division Multiple Access

A cellular system developed by Qualcomm, CDMA divides the space occupied by a limited number of frequencies for wireless devices to communicate on between devices, using assigned Walsh Codes. These rights codes, applied to the transmissions with other algorithms, ensure that the transmissions arrive securely at their target destination, and only their target destination. Without knowing the Walsh Code, and other information like the ESN, anyone listening on the frequency will only hear noise. CDMA works well when there is a great deal of interference.

Textual data that has been encrypted; unreadable until it has been decrypted into plain text with a key.

Clear Text

Textual data in ASCII format; the most portable format because it is supported by nearly every application on every machine; also called plain text. In cryptography, plain text refers to any message that is not encrypted. Encrypted text is refered to as cipher text.

Java ME toolbox for developing wireless applications designed to run on cell phones, mainstream personal digital assistants, and other small mobile devices. Formerly known as J2ME - Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition Wireless Toolkit, it was first used by RIM in 2001, it includes a Mobile Information Device Profile,emulation environments, performance optimization and tuning features, documentation, and sample code for wireless application, including games.
