BB

A short form way to describe the BlackBerry device. Also 'Berry


BCC - Blind Carbon Copy

In email, a way to describe sending someone a confidential copy.


BlackBerry Enabled Device

A device with BlackBerry Connect software, BlackBerry Built-In software, or a device running the BlackBerry Application Suite. BlackBerry enabled devices provide users with access to BlackBerry device applications and BlackBerry services.

BES - BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Server solution used by IT groups to manage and control Blackberry groups in a corporation; BES software provides IT departments with simplified management and centralized control of wireless devices in a secure, scalable and flexible architecture. Other hosted BES/MDS solutions include Link2Exchange, MyBlueberry, Mailstreet.com, eOutlook, Lanlogic.

BIS - Blackberry Internet Service

The web-based e-mail client that comes with BlackBerry service from your Internet provider, unless you have BES service from your company or institution.


Bluetooth

A low power radio technology that lets users connect nearby devices wirelessly, creating their own PANs (Personal Area Networks). Some Bluetooth enabled BlackBerrys can wirelessly connect to devices such as headsets and keyboards. First generation Bluetooth transmits data up to 1 Mbps on the 2.4 Ghz band. Bluetooth 2.0 uses Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) for up to 10x faster transmission speed.
